Adult Skating Waiver

THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY — YOU MUST READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE SIGNING.


Note: These skating sessions are not lessons, and attendees are required to take full responsibility for themselves in these sessions. Skating has a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Additionally, appropriate safety protection is strongly advised to be worn at all times, such as a helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, and knee pads.

By signing this form, you understand that you are taking responsibility for your own health and safety for the current and future sessions held by the Women’s Community Skating group.

I agree to and make the following contractual representations pursuant to this Waiver and Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement:

  1. Participant Representation:I hereby represent that:(i) I am at least eighteen years of age or older;(ii) I am in proper physical condition to participate in the skating events; and(iii) I will not be under the influence of alcohol or any illicit or prescription drugs which would in any way impair my ability to safely participate in the current and future events.I agree that it is my sole responsibility to determine whether I am sufficiently fit and healthy enough to participate in the events, and that I am responsible for my own safety and well-being at all times and under all circumstances while at the event site.

  2. Acknowledgment of Risks:I understand and acknowledge the risks and dangers associated with participation in the skating events, including but not limited to:

    • The potential for serious bodily injury and death;

    • Loss of or damage to equipment/property;

    • Contact with other attendees;

    • Participants of varying skill levels;

    • Situations beyond the immediate control of the event organisers; and

    • Other undefined, not readily foreseeable, and presently unknown risks and dangers.I hereby expressly assume all such risks and responsibility for any damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses which I incur as a result of my participation in any skating events.

  3. Responsibility for Conduct and Equipment:I accept sole responsibility for my own conduct and actions while participating in the skating events, and the condition and adequacy of my equipment. I understand that the event organisers have the right to disqualify anyone or deny participation in the skating sessions for any reason they deem just and proper in their sole discretion.

  4. Release and Indemnification:I hereby Release, Waive, and Covenant Not to Sue, and further agree to Indemnify, Defend, and Hold Harmless the following parties: Jessica Mead and other organisers of the Women’s Community Skating group (Individually and Collectively, the “Released Parties” or “Event Organisers”), with respect to any liability, claim(s), demand(s), cause(s) of action, damage(s), loss, or expense (including court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees) of any kind or nature (“Liability”) which may arise out of, result from, or relate in any way to my participation in the current or future skating sessions, including claims for Liability caused in whole or in part by the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties.This release does not extend to claims arising from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other liabilities that cannot be waived under applicable law.

  5. Consent to Incident Documentation:I understand and consent that the event organisers may document any accidents or incidents involving me during the skating sessions for safety, administrative, or legal purposes. Any documentation will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and retained only as necessary.

I hereby warrant that I am of legal age and competent to enter into this Agreement. I have read this Agreement carefully, understand its terms and conditions, and acknowledge that I will be giving up substantial
